Co-founder & Project Leader
Youth leader advancing community-driven solutions for underserved families.
Abigail is a dedicated leader committed to creating meaningful, community-driven impact.
As Co-founder and Project Leader of Compassion Champions, she leads youth-driven initiatives that provide essential resources to underserved families, with a focus on women and children experiencing housing insecurity. She designs and implements community donation drives, distributing essential items, including backpacks with school supplies, hygiene kits, clothing, toys, footwear, and food.
Abigail oversees end-to-end operations, including partnership development, logistics coordination, volunteer engagement, and on-site distribution. She has built and sustained relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and donors, securing both financial and in-kind support to advance the organization’s mission. Through her leadership, Compassion Champions has supported over 1,100 children and families across Queens and Long Island, New York.
A graduate of New Hyde Park Memorial High School, Abigail was actively involved in student government and organizations, including FBLA, SADD, the Red Cross Club, Best Buddies, and Junior Achievement, where she strengthened peer leadership and community engagement.
Abigail is currently a Business Administration student at the University at Buffalo, a Career Prep Fellow with Management Leadership for Tomorrow (Corporate Management Track), and a participant in the SEO Career Program. On campus, she holds leadership roles as Head of Engagement and Head of DEI Events for Delta Sigma Pi (Alpha Kappa Chapter) and will serve as a Student Engagement Intern beginning Fall 2026.
Her leadership and service have been recognized through multiple honors, including the NY Islanders Children’s Foundation Community Leadership Scholarship, Sewanhaka School District Humanitarian Award, Long Island Business Teachers Association Award, National Coalition of 100 Black Women (Long Island Chapter) Award, NY Chapter CHUMS Award, and the Town of North Hempstead Community Service Citation.
Abigail remains committed to expanding Compassion Champions and building sustainable initiatives that create lasting, equitable impact in communities.
Program Coordinator

Ruth Williams serves as Program Coordinator with Compassion Champions, where she coordinates and executes community-based initiatives that provide essential resources, including hygiene kits, school supplies, and seasonal items to underserved families and children. She also supports on-site program operations and fosters meaningful connections with families, promoting both access to resources and emotional well-being.
Ruth holds a Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Education at St. John’s University.
Through her work, Ruth is committed to creating opportunities for genuine social and emotional connection. She actively contributes to initiatives that cultivate a sense of care, dignity, and community while deepening her understanding of the social and economic challenges faced by infants, adolescents, and young adults.
Passionate about education and advocacy, Ruth is focused on understanding how external factors influence individual development and remains dedicated to supporting communities in ways that are thoughtful, responsive, and centered on well-being.
